About Me.

My name is Thierry, he/him

We all have times where we are struggling, and have moments where we feel overwhelmed and unable to move forward, and this is where therapy can be an amazing resource to tap into.

I'm aware of the difficulty and the apprehension that starting therapy can bring up, so I always want to make sure that you feel fully supported and we are able to move at a pace that feel right for you.

As a counsellor with an integrative approach to therapy, I view the therapeutic process as collaborative, where we can adapt the modality to suit the needs for you as a client. My core foundation is working with a person-centred approach, applying the core conditions of empathy and congruence and allowing you as the client to take the lead in your journey. I use psychodynamic insights and somatic tools within my practice to help uncover unconscious patterns and childhood attachments as well as being able to connect the effect of unconscious feelings to the reactions within the body.

I work with both men and woman individually and am working towards building my qualification towards working with children and teens.

my role is to help you work out and understand what you may be feeling and going through, and work together to bring about change. I want to offer a space where you can be heard and valued and work towards  your needs being fulfilled.

Types of counselling and therapy

Some examples of various types of therapy. there are many different ways that therapists work each aiming to get you to a place of healing. One modality is not better or worse than the other, its just different ways a methods of working.

Person centred: this type of therapy works based on the idea that you as a client are driven towards growth and self-actualisation. This way of working allows the client to be the lead in their own journy and work towards their own recovery with the support of a counsellor.

Gestalt: a humanistic approach that brings focus to the "here and now". Helping you increase your self awareness of thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations to gain a stronger understanding "self as a whole."

Psychodynamic: a talking based therapy to focuses on working with unconscious patterns, emotions and past experiences-often looking at childhood experiences- as a way to resolve current psychological distress.

Psychosynthesis: a holistic based therapy that aims to integrate fragmented diverse aspects of a person into a unified authentic self. It brings in the concept of self (the centre of consciousness), sub personalities (different parts of the personality), synthesising of these to create the whole.

What is integrative therapy?

A flexible therapeutic approach that combines various modalities such as (but not limited to) psychodynamic and humanistic therapies to suit an individuals personal and unique needs.
